Network virtual field trip
Those of a certain age may remember phone switchboards of our past. Some may have seen the switchboard operator either on Laugh-In or at the least, in the movies. Using the switchboard and the operator as crude examples, perhaps networks will be easier to understand.
These switchboards allowed two or more people to share auditory information. Today, when two or more computers share information over a connection they do so using a network. This virtual field trip should allow you to explore the terms, equipment and processes so you can understand your own systems.
